hi, today its foul weather and raining :( should i still take them out to their runs for a bit ( it does have a covered area) or should i keep them snug and dry in their c&c cage ? might be a silly question but ........ thanks x

If it has a covered area and the groung underneath is dry and as long as it's not actually cold out then you could. I wouldn't put them on wet ground though as they can get a chill. Mine can only go out when it is warm and dry as their run is not covered so the ground has to be warm enough for them.

Or let them loose inside for a run? Maybe make a room (bathroom) piggie proof :)

I don't have a proper garden, it's all concrete and we park our cars on it so I've got a few of these joined up http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/rodents/cages/pens_fencing/pens_with_racks/14543

and I set it up in the living room with a fleece blanket under it x

I only my indoors piggies oputside on the lawn when it warm and dry. But they have dialy indoors roaming.

Guinea pigs are very susuceptible to urinary tract infection, so I would be extremely careful as UTI can be tough to clear.

how do they get them ? is it due to being cold or damp ? sorry ! i have no idea !mallethead thanks

They shouldn't be out on wet grass but if it starts to rain when they are out I put a plastic sheet over the run and leave them. They are never out unsupervised as we have foxes so I'm always in the back room keeping an eye out.

It also depends on the piggy. I'd only do this with healthy young adults not youngsters or older piggies. Also these guys are coming back into a warm house afterwards - I'm not sure I'd do it if they were in a hutch.
