Hi I’ve had my Guniea girls for almost 3 years. My girl Pearl has a sore on her left side by her hip and it looked like a open wound so I got worried. I tried to make a vet appointment but because it is the new year weekend my vet is closed. Yesterday it was scabbing over and today it seems like it’s a slightly bleeding scab. Should I take her to an emergency vet?

If in doubt see a vet. I'm sure someone will be along soon with some more useful advice but if there's an out of hours vet near you this may be the time to use them.

It’s not urgent but if that’s the quickest way to get your girl seen then do take her.

It doesn't sound super urgent, so as long as you're comfortable, you can wait until they're open. If any other symptoms pop up, like fur loss, weight loss, etc, it'd be better to take her to the vet. For right now, just do your best to keep the area clean. You can wipe down the area with a moist washcloth, and keep any bedding and droppings away from the sore, especially since it's open.
