Hi

I got a baby boar 4 days ago from a breeder and he's currently in quarantine. He's very quiet, and he's only eating vegetables and a few of his own pellets. He's hardly eating any hay and not trying the pellets I want to change him to. I worry that he'll make himself ill from lack of hay eating. He has a variety of hays to choose from.

I'm wondering if I should start bonding with Charlie now, with bars between them? I'm hoping that he'll learn from Charlie about hay and also gain confidence seeing him with us. Should I risk breaking quarantine to see if it'll help the baby settle better?

Babies always take it much harder being on their own; as long as you are aware that you will need to treat both piggies if something turns up, you can bond them.
