On Saaturday afternoon, I moved my two baby piggies, Elliot who is 5 months and Oscar who is 3 months, in together. They have had floortime together before for about a month since I brought baby Oscar home, and have been alright so far but not the best of pals and definately no snuggling up together for bedtime nap! There has been some popcorning though.

Elliot is as friendly as they come, but with people and pigs. He's laid back and I don't think he minds Oscar being there at all. Oscar, on the other hand is a little toerag with Elliot. Everytime Elliot goes near him, he's making a drrrr noise loudly at him and rumblestrutting. Oscar is also trying to mount Elliot. Poor Elliot only wants a piggie pal!

Because of Oscars aggression, i'm frightened to leave them together while I go to work, so i'm just after some advice. I know if I split them up now i'll break their bonding process so far and they'll have to start again which is just making it worse. Help!

I would leave them together. Rumblestrutting and mounting is a normal part of the bonding process; they are MILD dominance behaviour and nothing to worry about unless the humping was incessant. Suzygpr recommends putting a teddy in the cage to absorb some of the humping.

Hello and thanks Wiebke and Katie :)
I've left them so will see what awaits me when I get home. Oscar isn't incessant humping. Just every now and then. I took Elliot's teddy out because I thought Oscar might eat it being the cheeky pig he is! I really, really hope they become best buds in time. If they reach George's age and they're 2 old men who are inseperable, I will be a very happy person indeed. Only time will tell :)

They'll only get used to each other by being around each other.
I tend to go for the tough love approach when introducing two new piggies. Aslong as they're not outright trying to kill each other, I leave them to it.

mine are two years old and freddie is always jumping on baz back and biting his bum and they do the rumble and bum wriggle which makes me laugh but have never had full on scrap
