I posted a couple of months ago about my 3 guinea pigs. They had been together since their first week of life and suddenly were drawing blood and fighting, I was recommended to separate them. 2 were getting along great so I left them together and separated only the third. The third piggy was picking on both the piggies but biting only one. Anyways the whole thing is that he is separated and is alone, it seems he’s very aggressive and was being a bully to the others, I don’t know if he is happy alone tho. I hear guineas should always have a companion, I am not willing to get him a friend So that I will have to separate them again, but if I don’t will he be happy and have a good life even by himself? And if I do, how can I avoid him not hating the new friend? Is it possible for him to be happy by himself?

Also, the 2 piggies that I left together, one of them the third piggy really likes.. when they are together he popcorns and makes purr sounds. However he bullies him.. runs after him, jumps on him.. and he sits there screaming asking me to remove him when they are togethe, that’s why I left him with the other one. But it seems the third piggy misses him. Idk what to do.

I never named them so I’m sorry if it sounds confusing. The “third piggy” that’s the angry one that doesn’t get along with anyone. The “Second piggy” the “third piggy” bites and draws blood. And the “First piggy” the “third piggy” likes but since he bullies him the feeling doesn’t seem mutual as the “first piggy” seems desperate to get out of the situation.

Boars: A guide to successful companionship.

I'm not quite sure of the dynamics, but these links should help you decide where you are at with your piggies. If you do decide to get a fourth, try to find a rescue which does 'boar dating', where they let your piggy choose his own friend which reduces the likelihood of future fall outs. Your piggy who is on his own can be happy so long as he can interact with the others through the bars all the time. There won't be the same problems as before when they are not actually in each other's territories. I hope you manage to work it out.
