Rufus was very skittish this morning he came up to me to hand feed then quickly turned and ran up the ramp. He stood at the top of the ramp shaking for a bit then went to hide in a cosy cube. I could tell Hugo was concerned because he followed him, stayed close and shared his favourite hide (Hugo is usually boss). They were both very slow to come back downstairs where I'd scattered pellets. He's eating, pooping and acting normal now. I've left him with Connor as I've had to go to work but I'm not sure whether to worry or not. Our current plan of action is to keep a close eye on him today and if needed book a vet visit for Thursday

Something may have spooked them? Guinea pigs have a much finer sense of smell than us. It is not necessarily always sudden noises or weird sounds that can set them off.

Everything seems to be fine now. I'm wondering if there were some dominance things going on between the boys and rufus was nervous to overstep the mark by taking a treat.

Rufus is generally a more wary piggie than Hugo so it would make sense if there was something to spook them he would over react while Hugo seems as confused as we are.
