Wanted a 12x6 or 10x8 but sods law states that despite the fact that we have a mahoosive garden; we can't find a suitable space for either of those sizes; so 10x6 it is! It'll be a 'free range' home (no hutches - a huge bedding box will be put in in winter) for 15/16 guinea pigs. :)

oh i like the look of that one.i think I'm going to get an 8 ft x 6 ft as my garden isnt very big lol xx

Hello I have a shed and adore it!

Size:6 ft by 4 ft.
From: Wilkinsons http://www.wilkinsonplus.com/garden...cDPfxIrYzUvEu76RzzM6wutKTeo9AOCB tDs76aYYKg==

Quality: its not top quality however saying that it survived the gales and 4ft of snow last winter! Its also started to warp so if your staying in your house (we're hoping to move soon) and you have a bit more cash to spare I'd recommend a tongue and groove shed.

Cost: £120 for the shed (its gone up a bit now) £15 on the flooring, £10 on the locks £10 on the solar lightening, £15 on the loft insulation.

Pros:
* An absoloute joy to clean in the winter.

*Very spacious, allows plenty of room for your guineas to free range esp in wet weather

*You can easily fit a double hutch in and all the accessories!

*Plenty of room for your pigs to have lots of toys to play with.

* You can buy hay in bulk and have somewhere to store it.

*Keeps your piggies sheltered in the winter months.

*Makes your garden look tidy and neat!

*More space for more piggies :))

Cons:
* First and foremost place your shed in a secure area/ part of the garden, make sure its locked securely and not in view of the public. Some idiots tried to set alight my shed earlier this year, and since then we've moved it so its hidden from the street. So I can't stress this point enough invest in two good quality locks one for the bottom of the shed and one for the top esp if you have foxes in your area too.

* Sheds need to be placed on a flat surface, if you dont have one you'll need to invest in a frame to go underneath (if your buying shop bought sheds if your going to a timber woodshop/builder they usually include this in your set up price.

*If your building it yourself (shop bought) you'll need a few extra hands and a day to youself to put it up.

* Flooring is essenital if your letting your pigs free range. I bought B+Q Value Vinyl Floor Tiles in pink £2.96 for a pack of six, I needed 4 packs to cover my floor and an extra pack for the hutch floor makes cleaning far easier http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/nav.jsp?action=detail&fh_secondid=9956797

*If you want electricity to your shed you'll need to look into supplying it to the shed which can make it quite pricey! However I use a solar light and I have a solar panel on the shed roof.

* Sheds can get too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. If you can afford it insulate the walls and ceiling of your shed if you can't just insulate the hutch. Cut an air vent (which can be covered in the winter) in the top of the shed for the summer, cover it with mesh so nothing can get in! I'd also suggest for the summer using a wire mesh door or a stable door to allow air to circulate through the shed.

My boys have a 5ft by 2ft double hutch in the shed, which means they have plenty of space to exercise and sleep in too:

My boys love their shed, its got so much room for them to scamper about, play and have their 'own space' and its also lovely to watch them run around with one another. Its been great for me to store all their toys and accessories and it makes the garden look much neater than it did before.
