The orignal plan in my shed was to have furniture board shelve type cages with mesh panels to make them into 'pens'.... but now after realising i cant cover the cages like i could a hutch with tonnes of carpet so I'm gunna have to rethink.

Please if anyone has ANY advice to offer I'm desperate, i need to know how thick the flooring would need to be if i built my own hutches.

I know id need exterior plywood but I'm not sure what mm thickness id need.

Also what would the hutch back&sides be made out of :{

I admit to being clueless but if i can get the plans together i know a few people who can help me.

also am i missing anything on my list-

Lengths of wood for the hutches framework
Mesh for the doors
Smaller lengths of wood to make doors
Exterior ply for the floors
Some kind of wood for the back,sides & top :{
Screws/hinges/bolts

....PLEASE HELP LOL

EVEN IF YOU CAN ONLY OFFER 1 PIECE OF ADVICE please comment :))

thankyou TGPF!

If the hutch will only be used in the shed then you could use ply for the whole lot which would keep your costs down a bit. You wouldn't need to go that thick with the ply either. Use battons of wood to build a strong frame and panel it our with ply. Really only the bottom needs to be waterproof in a shed and you could get round using marine ply for that (its a bit more expensive than normal ply) by using a bit of lino on the floor to waterproof it. As for the exact thickness depending on where you buy your supplies from (I use a local independant DIY place) the people in the shop will help if you tell them what your doing and how big it is etc.. mine will even cut the stuff to the right size for me if I know exectly what I want.

Best advice though is plan plan plan lol I've just bombed in to projects before and overspent due to poor planning.
