I'm converting my shed, and ages ago i saved a load of pictures of peoples set ups.. but i forgot they were on my stupid lappi which broke :(

so can anyone post me their pics please?

also......... the shed is 10 year old, so its needing a restain etc, but during the storms the roofing came off. Can anyone recommend anything for the roof? do not want to refelt again as it costs so much, and always comes back off. I saw someone has replaced theirs with thick blue plastic.. has anyone done this? will it last? also ventilation? I am replacing the window with mesh and cutting the door in half so it is like a stable door, meaning i can lkeave half open on nice days, will this be ok?

Thanks in advance...

My shed is a very cheap but cheerful shed! lol! But it has worked wonders esp over the winter months.
My OH cut into the top panels of the wood on the shed (towards the roof) two small square holes and covered this with mesh for the summer months for ventilation, for the winter months i taped over the mesh with paper so it didnt get too cold.

Ive kept the window in so it didn’t get too cold and frosty in the winter months, and i know you cant move your shed around but i choose a spot with mine thats in the shade for the summer, but seems to catch the sun in the winter time so its an all round good spot. :)

I'd suggest putting a mesh door behind the stable door (I use my old run top for this), so cats/foxes cant get in when you have half the door open. :)

Umm for the roof...i know what your talking about its a plastic flexible materiel lasts longer than felt....and is usually used on garages but ive heard its more expensive than felt. Soo ummm i think you might need to get some quotes on that

For the floor can i recommend the B+Q value range self adhesive tiles? I bought four pack for my 6 ft x 4 ft shed, it means that piggies can have floor time and its very easy to wash down and clean:

Oooh and a good couple of locks is a must! I have three on my shed, just to make sure no one/ no animal can get in!

I've also got a shed light and a spare touch that is hung in the shed so i can see what I'm doing on a winters night, and if their is any emergencies during the evening

Heres a photo of my shed when we were constructing it:

Heres a photo of the shed with the small grate at the front so the boys can get out when the doors open (and I'm in the garden)

You can insulate sheds, and put eleccy in them, but as I'm not stopping in this house for long I just insulated the hutch instead over winter with loft insulatation and blankets.

Heres some threads that i started with plenty of photos in them

Cant wait to see pigtures of your shed when its up and running!

thanks for all that info :)

I'm planning on getting rid of my hutches, but after seeing yours i think i might put one in and build around it, would make an extra cosy bedding place.

I have those pushlights in, not worth laying electric when i am hoping to sell soon (another reason for trying to get my hutches down, make the garden look bigger haha)

I always use those floor tiles on my hutches, makes it easier to clean, but was thinking i may carpet a section? dunno, cos that would mean vaccing :D

have yours got constant access to the floor?

I have had to replace all my locks on everything and going to get a couple of padlocks too x

they also sell those tiles in poundland.. although they only do boring wood variety ones.. not nice coloured ones.. but they are just as good as they do stick well, i used them to line my ferret hutches :))

Ooo good idea, yeah we'll be moving soon too dont know when but eventually! :))

I was going to get rid of my hutch but it makes a great bedding area and a place to put their food in, as well as double up as storage as i can put all the hay and whatnot on top. :)

Hmmm i dont know about a carpet section...perhaps you could have a fleece/vetbed section? Might make it easier to clean if you can just bung it in the wash.

Yerp they have constant access to the floor even during the night, i have a small litter tray under the hutch as it seems to be the place they do their buisness...mallethead unfortantly i couldnt access underneath the hutch so had to put it on bricks in the end!

Good luck with the shed cant wait for pics :)
