Hi everyone, we got our new baby Sephy about a week ago and she seems fine, she's a very inquisitive piggy and isnt at all shy or scared BUT when we hold her or pick her up she just tries to get away! Its not like she's scared, just like she doesnt want to be held but its getting quite dagerous to pick her up because she wriggles so much its hard to keep a grip on her. Even when you put her down in front of you she wants to be walking around unless there's food in front of her! Any suggestions on how to calm her down? i keep thinking i'm going to drop her! Thanks
Love Emma x

Well it's good that you've got a vigorous and lively piggy :)

I probably would very gently drop a small towel over her when you want to pick her up, then she'll stop and think "hey! what?" and you can pick her up. Boogie used to fidget. I just sat on the sofa with her and the towel and a bit of hay and cucumber. She wriggle and scamper about and then once she was satisfied there was no where else to go she just tucked in to the snacks.

Babies are crazy! They behave very strangely, I think. Big pigs are so much easier to understand! She'll grow out of it eventually - as she experiences more she'll understand that not every event requires full tilt panic mode! ::)

We had that with Nibbles, I got one of my sons hooded tops, picked Nibbles up and popped him in the hood.
He didn't wriggle then, just hid. When we sat down with him he'd calm a bit.
He's 15weeks now and alot better though still prefers the hood. :)
Good luck. O0

Thanks :) i had the problem of having to chase two of mine around when they were younger but they calmed down once we had hold of them! Sephy is the complete opposite, she lets me pick her up but once i have her she doesnt stop wriggling ::)

One of mine is a right wriggler and it was becoming really difficult to hold her and put her back in the cage as she would easily have jumped from a great height just to get into the cage. She got really excited and wriggled when we got near the cage. I now have to wrap her in a towel and lower into the cage whilst still wrapped up in it. ;)
