We're thinking of moving the piggies indoors and I really wanted to get them a pretty C & C cage but I sadly I find the materials hard to source in the UK. They can also end up being quite expensive too with shipping etc.

I really wanted a C and C cage as they look so nice and you can design them yourself but as I have to get it with my birthday/christmas money a cage like the Ferplast 120 might be a cheaper option. :(

I find it a pity that C and C cages are so hard to source in th UK. Especially as they would probably give lots of guinea pigs in tiny shop bought cages a more stylish ( they look better than shop bought cages so might encourage new owners to get them and build bigger) and larger home!

You can buy the grids from (( Wayfair )) or (( Robert May )) or (( eBay )). :)

And you can get the Correx on-line in several stores or via eBay. (( teacratepackaging )) do it very cheap although it is 2mm not 4mm. xx

Hope this helps! We will be building one tomorrow - I have built one before but this one will be much bigger lol. If you have to get a commercial cage I can strongly recommend either the Trixie 150 cage or the Ferplast 140 cage - they are bigger front-to-back than the Ferplast 120 so offer a much better size living-space-wise. The Ferplast 140 is £100 from Pets At Home on-line - delivery is free.

Travis Perkins sell 2mm correx. The brand they have is called antinox and is just over £7 for a 8ft x 4ft sheet. :)

We had no problems sourcing our C&C cage - it does take a bit of investigative work and maybe a bit of bargaining if you want to get a decent price - a retailer on eBay was trying to charge us something like 75% more than standard for the grids! We planned ours in advance and spent a while researching the different places to buy. I have to admit OH was dealing with it mainly as he's very good at figuring things out like that (I have poor concentration due to illness which means I end up losing track) but if you want, I can ask what sites and sellers he used. We had a small budget and managed to stick to it.

If your going to buy a cage have a butchers on zooplus first. The xxl cage is much bigger than ferplast and cheaper!
