I need some help, advice and support..
I'm looking to plan on starting my own piggy rescue due to my knowledge, care and love for then.
This is something I have considered doing for a long while but dont know were to start as I know you need the money for vet bills, hutches and essentials..
I would like to set up a fund account, were donations can be donated to me to have the head start to starting this..
Can anyone give me some advice on how to set a fund account up?
Also anyone whom have done something like before can tell me what you did..
This is really something I want to do, but without support something I cannot start.

I commend you for wanting to do this Jodie but to be honest I would suggest you try working with a local, established rescue first to get an idea of what you are getting yourself into. I fostered for Crawley GP rescue for a couple of years before setting up my own rescue last year. During this time I set up a vet fund, organised my accommodation, quarantine area and first aid kit etc., none of which are cheap but all things I felt needed to be in place prior to opening the rescue - and not things I would expect someone else to fund.

Rescue work is 24/7 and whilst it can be very rewarding, it is also heartbreaking at times. Have you got someone to help if you are ill or need to be away for a few days, you will need to sort out handover/adoption papers, set down your rehoming criteria and decide whether you will personally home check etc. - there is a lot to think about. Good luck

Please don't start a rescue until you have personal support and finances in place, as well as a clear idea of what is involved, so you don't end up as one of the many failed rescues. Running a good standard rescue is very demanding emotionally as well as time-wise and rather expensive as soon as it comes to vet cost and feed for a larger intake of neglected, pregnant sows!

Thanks for the info guys. I think I will leave it on standby. Something I would love to do but as you all said I will just get myself into a nightmare position x
