Well Bugsy and Snickers had a really bad fight today and I've had to separate them. I don't have space to put their cages side by side so I've had to stack them. :(

Boys! Adleast they can still hear each other!

It's horrible separating pigs but it sometimes is the only way :(!

I had no choice :( Snickers was clamped onto Bugsy's side and Cadbury was so scared that he got stuck in a toilet roll trying to get out of their way. I know they can still hear each other so now I'm wandering if it would be an idea to get Bugsy neutered and get him a girlfriend or just keep themas they are. Any thoughts?

Is The other pig living with someone?

Neutering and a female can work well. Saying that I have a Single Neutered male and a female separated :))!

Although thats quite rare, if you do go down the neutering route I would let him choose his friend. I have 2 other male/female pairs they adore one another!

I have left Snickers and Cadbury in together as they seem to be getting on ok so no worries there...but Bugsy doesn't look best happy at being on his own so I need a plan for him.

If Bugsy is a good age, and you can find a good vet then adleast that way if he picks a sow they rarely fallout.

You would need to keep them in a separate room though as the smell of a female can upset bonded boars, not always but sometimes.

I would consider neutering and introducing to a younger sow only if you can keep Bugsy and his girl out of sight. It is usually older dominant sows that don't like having a boar around. It is important that you find a good vet as that can drastically reduce the risks and complications of the op/recovery.

He's about 6 or 7 months old...hmmm maybe a sow is not the way to go as I won't have the space in the new house to put them in another room...in fact I think I am going to have to get an outside hutch when we move but I was going to get a two tier one just in case I did have to separate...don't know what to do now :(

Ooh thats not good. Poor boys :(. I don't know if there's any way I can help, but let me know if you need a hand, I may have a spare cage or something if needed.

Thank you Shelly...I'm ok for cages at the moment...but Bugsy is really not liking being on his own :( he is wandering round his cage wheeking and biting the bars...I read somewhere that's not a good thing :(

Oh bless him, poor boy :(. He hasn't really done himself any favours there has he.

I wouldn't mind but it was Snickers that started the fight but since Bugsy and Cadbury don't get on as well as Snickers and Cadbury do...so I had no choice but to put Bugsy on his own :(
