My boy piggy Marty had an operation for a broken leg a week ago and i've had to keep him separate from my girly piggy Darcy since then. I've got then in separate cages near each other indoors but am wondering when its safe to get them back together again?
Last evening I got Darcy out in the sitting room as usual and after she had a good run i brought Marty out. I sat on the floor with them both. They seemed really happy to see each other, sniffing each others noses and chattering away sweetly. However when i did the same this evening they were fine for about 5 mins and then Marty did a huge "yawn" thing and started teeth chattering!
He's never ever done this so it was quite a shock so I am wondering if i should carry on doing this supervised contact or avoid it altogether?

Hi love i'll ask admin to redirect this into behaviour for you :)
and don't worry :)

It might have been a one off......... but keep an eye on them and keep us posted ! :)

Tried again this evening and after about 5 mins it happened again. Marty doing loads of teeth chattering and this time Darcy teeth chattered back and her fur went all bristly. They faced off at each other so i separated them. I think Marty's being like this because he's obviously still not back to himself with the broken leg and all.
Feel so sorry for Darcy tho cos she just wants to be with him and he clearly doesn't feel the same! :(

Pigs is animal normally who do not show a behavior problem. But in very rare cases when you have then you may easily over come.Separation is best idea if you have decided this it can help you to over come on pig's behavior.
