Today i had to separate my two boars as they started fighting, so i've managed to separate them and now the one who keeps getting attacked it running around terrified and trying to chew his way out, they're wheeking a lot which is what i expected but the one who gets attacked isn't calming down at all and the bully is just in his new cage munching away whilst talking back to him, any advice?

They've calmed down quite well with the occasional wheeking at each other which is obviously to be expected, they're very nervous i.e. not leaving dens but again i'm not worried about that so they seem all right.

Do you think it will be ok to try and reintroduce them again a few days? I'm 99% sure it's hormones (6 weeks old) and not their temperaments as they are very close (every time i go in the cage they huddle together and regularly groom each other etc.)

I will admit i got them a little young but unfortuantly their owner said now or never and no one was interested so i don't know what she would have done to them :( They've been showing the dominance behaviour for the last week and a half (after they settled) but this is the first fight they've had. I would at least love to be able to put them in their run (coop) together in the summer when/if it warms up.

their cage is ferplast 120 but their coop is 16sq foot but they're iffy with the ramp at the moment so i want a warm day so i can put them in the run which is twice as big at the indoor nesting area
thanks :)

I've put mine back because they were wheeking like crazy and they seemed to have calmed down, still rumbling so keeping an eye on them.
If it gets worse i'm thinking of housing them separately but letting them have playtime together. :)

Good news so far..if they start again why not split a hutch with firm wire so they have 'company' but can't get to each other and cause harm?

That's one thing i'm thinking of, i can at least put their cages next to each other. They're munching away and trying to work out their new treatballs, there's just rumbling when Frankie goes in Bobby's bed whilst Bobby is trying to have both beds lol, i think Frankie's winning for the igloo though

hi my two boars are the same age as yours and they continuously "brrrrr" at each other and back up to each other and chase and make a right noise! been doing it for a while, they sleep in seperate beds and have seperate everything, i've even put a teddy in there, and as long as i put plenty of distraction in their cage they seem to be okay. Have yours actually drawn blood? I'm concerned about my boys too but hoping they;ll settle as they do plenty of popcorning too

Frankie has a small cut on his ear so i'm keeping them separated for the time being at least enough to allow it to heal (it's not bad at all it is just a scratch).
It's weird as Frankie seems more bothered about being separated, they're both fine now but i think i'm going to get a playpen for them so they can play daily on mutual territory. They can see each other through the bars etc and have been sniffing. :)
