I know you're recovering from a migraine and the pain in my head and neck won't go anywhere and my eyes won't focus right, but there's a viewing on Saturday and you need to clean up

Brain: lol nope, better idea. Rearrange the furniture.

I think I might give up for the night, tbh.

This is so relatable my furniture has been in every possible arrangement

Unless I can find a good excuse to cancel Saturday's viewing I need to do something. Just wish the headache would go away.

I gave up cleaning. My brain would have none of it. It doesn't look like a complete pigsty anymore but my mother would probably have a fit if she saw it.

So I kept with the rearrangement instead. Mostly there. Still got things needing shoved in a corner but the important bits are done for now.

Oh and I was given the rug today. I know it's a bit dated but it's in great nick and it's not like I have another.

I would say that tidy is more important than spotless, based on experience of moving house a few times. I started with good intentions but it didn't help my mental health to spend hours cleaning my always dusty house before each viewing so in the end I compromised - if we couldn't hide the clutter, as long as it was in neat piles, the draining board clear, and the loo seat down, that was "good enough".

Sorry to hear about your migraine Lorcan. I get them too, horrible things. Hope you feel better soon.

Well, it's not like they need to sit down so I'm not clearing the sofa or the armchair, and everything else is either going to be chucked in the cellar if it's rubbish (the bins are full) or on/under/beside a chair and sofa. plenty of room to walk to each room and through each room except mine and that's because mine's tiny, no other reason.
