Hi, I have a rescue piggy Teddy x. She’s about 3/4 and just had a 2nd seizure only. Both times have veg. When I’ve picked her up to move her from outside to cage. She has a particular aversion to being handled so she is only picked up when necessary. In winter - no more than twice a week. I just wondered if anyone else had experienced something similar. Otherwise, she seems her usual self. Her sister and friend are both well and responding normal to being moved, Thanks for reading (PS if it’s stress induced then I’m worried taking her to the vet would cause another seizure)

I’m sorry to hear this.
So she has had two seizures - I understand one seizure has just happened, but when was the other one?

You say it’s happened when moving her from
Outside to the cage.
Does she live inside or outside? I’m asking as indoor piggies should be being out outside at this time is year as it is far too cold (also vice versa - piggies who love outside and are used to cooler conditions shouldn’t be moved inside at this time of year). This is due to temperature changes being too great.
Piggies who live outside shouldn’t be on grass as it is too cold and damp (if that is what you meant by being moved from Outside to the cage).

Is she able to stand?
Is her weight stable at each weekly check?
Does she have any other symptoms such as parasites?
She does need to see a vet if she is having seizures

Hi and welcome

You may find the information and practical tips in these two guides here helpful for minimising the problem.
If she has proper seizures and is not just shivvering, I would however have her vet checked at some point.

(the main video doesn't work at the moment but we have got plenty of other pictures!)

Welcome to the forum.
Sorry that your piggy has had seizures, that can be quite scary to see.
A vet trip could worth while to put your mind at ease
