Hi piggie friends. We've recently moved house from London and I'm trying to find a more local vet to our new home (near Haywards Heath RH17). My boys are currently registered with CJ Hall in London but I don't fancy 2 hour round trips for every required check-up. Piglet has interstitial cystitis and therefore needs regular meds and check-ups - the drives back to London are getting a bit much. I've had a look on the vet list, the closest is seers croft medivet faygate, however the two specialists aren't listed on the staff page anymore (one has sadly passed away, not sure what's happened to the other one). Does anyone know whether this practice still has any guinea pig specialists? Or any other local vets with a piggie specialist?

Photo of the two fluffy culprits!
Thank you!

Hi

Unless another member of our forum uses them, we cannot comment.
As a forum, we rely entirely on member feedback for guidance in the areas where they live. Keep in mind that there are literally thousands of clinics and hospitals registered all over the UK with a huge flux in personnel. Since we are all running this forum for free in our own free time, it is too huge a task to go round every clinic to vet them for their guinea pig knowledge, only to find that their piggy savviest vet has moved elsewhere some months on...

All the best for finding a good vet clinic in your new area.

Totally understand. I am just hoping someone on the forum has some knowledge about this practice. I've done a bit of my own digging and it seems there is a registered vet at their practice who is a General Practictioner in Exotic Animal Practice, and FNOVI accredited in "Medicine and surgery of the Small Mammals". Will give them a call tomorrow either way to find out more.

If you find a good vet, please let us know. We are always grateful for feedback to help others in the same area.

Please do come back and update.
We are always happy to add new vets to the approved list and rely heavily on members for feedback.

The vets did seem knowledgable on guinea pigs. However I had to go back the following day for an X-ray (my previous vet would do it all in the same appointment) and on the second day I saw a different vet. I personally do like to build rapport with one specialist vet!

Did you find a good vet in the end? I am in Horley near Gatwick and still looking for an exotic vet.
