One of my piggys had a spur on her tooth so she had a light sedation at 1.00 in the afternoon but she is still really wobbly and cant get her footing. Is this normal for it to take this long for it to wear off?

I am worried about her because she is sat at the back of her carrier box next to me with her eyes closed - could this be the end? she doesn't look happy and still hasn't eaten. Help me i am scared . I don't want to take her to the vets again incase they think i am stupid - my dad is away on a business trip in italy so i can't ask him. Help. :-\ :'( ? :(

Hi Lottie they can take some time to come round did he give her anything else or was it just the spur on her tooth she had done, if she had pain killers etc that could have affected her , she is feeling sorry for herself, leave her quite for a while I've had lots of mine done and never lost one yet,

two of mine have recently had anaesthesia - which is just heavier doses of the drugs. they both were very quiet for a day or so. they didn't squeak or move much. What is very important is that she has a blink reflex. This may only be when you touch her eyes, but try to do it. If the guinea blinks in response to stimuli it sounds good.
If you are at all worried though do call the vet. Maybe he had to give a heavier dose than he first intended. Good luck.
