My boys have a 3 by 5 c cage with a 1 by 3 loft. I am going to be expanding theloft area. What type of support do you use under it. I currently have two grids going down for support. It is very difficult to clean under this and get liners under it, so I will be removing them and using a metal it wood support under the loft. What do those of you who have a second level prefer? Thanks!
 
I used a metal support bar (from Grendle) when I had the loft, but still used a grid underneath because of the L shape. I’ve now got 2 stacked 2x5 cages and have got two pieces of wood going end to end underneath the top cage.
 
Finished! I expanded from a 1 by 3 loft to a 2 by 3. I made little bunk beds for them up there. With the wood support I was able to remove the grids from underneath. More open space for them and no places to get stuck!

How many piggies altogether? I stacked and put the girls on the bottom in the end. No issues so far, thank goodness!
