Hey guys ! So I think my sow Scarlett is in heat today. She's constantly purring around my feet and is weirdly trying to hop on them😂😂 but she's also just pacing around the living room floor whining which is not her. She's very quiet. Any ideas on what's wrong with her ? I gave her extra love than usual and made sure she has Hay, Pellets and Water. Her cage is also clean. She's so spoiled I have no idea what might be wrong.🥺

I’m afraid we can’t know for sure but it might be if she is displaying hormonal behaviours.

Does she have a companion?

It’s great that you are keeping them apart. Hope you can get him neutered soon and after a 6 week wait he can then be bonded with Scarlet. have a look on our recommended vet list to see if there is a vet near you, or ask a local rescue who they use 😊

Piggies come into season every... 16ish days I think? Something like that anyway. One of my girls just gets very bossy with the other - the neutered boar doesn't get a look-in! But every pig is different 😅
The other thing to consider is whether she feels you're in 'her' space. I have to open cages with a fleece mat between - if I stand here to water my plants on the windowsill the pigs will sometimes come out to stand on my feet. They did it a lot more when we first changed to this set-up. It was their way of saying, "hey, what are you doing here?!"
