I have had my pig since I was an older kid and she is a little fearful of me. When I go to her cage to pet her or pick her up she runs away into the little igloo I bought for her. When I walk with her she bites the towel I'm holding her in. Maybe when I was a kid I was rough with her. It is a possibility. Now that I'm older I want to gain her trust back and get her to want to be held. How can I make her feel more comfortable around me?

All you can do is hold her everyday, speak gently to her and show her you are no threat. Why is she living alone? Guinea pigs need company of their own kind. She will be very lonely and nervous living alone. Another guinea pig of the same sex would mean she would have her own friend to socialise with.

It's normal for your piggy to be scared as they are prey animals, and we're alot bigger than them so it's natural, but the best thing to do is just handle daily and try to be quiet around your pig. Being loud or making quick movements will terrify them.

Food is always a great thing too, try feeding your piggy it's veg when they're sat on your bed with you or just on your lap, they start associating you with food which is the best way to a piggies heart haha !

My guinea isn't alone actually. I left out that I have another female pig that she gets along with very well. And thanks for the advice I will definitely do all of this.
