Scabs and spots on my guinea pig....

I regularly look at my long-haired guinea pigs coat, due to grooming them everyday and have recently come across these...

I am a new guinea Piggie owner and so am very concerned and worried....
Can anybody help?

Please make an appointment for your piggy to be seen by a vet.

It is impossible for us to diagnose simply from a photo, but it does look like your piggy may have a skin problem.

The good news is that with proper diagnosis and treatment these usually clear up fairly quickly.
Please do not attempt any home or pet shop remedies before you see a vet - these are usually ineffective and simply mask the symptoms making a proper diagnosis more difficult.

I have looked more closely at their coat and have found little bugs crawling around...
Am taking them to the vet tomorrow so thanks so much for your help!

Hello there TheOriginalBubble&Squeak I jus notice on my boys they have a scab and these little whiteish yellow bugs on them and was curious if your issue was the same and if you had any information to possibly help me I’m super worried about my little guys and never had this kind of issue before

Please take your boys to the vet for a check. Nothing can replace the hands-on check by a vet.
