Hi everyone. I'm new to this. But hi I'm sophie
I have 2 guinea pigs, shadow is a grey and white and gizmo is ginger and white.
Shadow recently looked like he had lice so I treated it with ' spot on '. I checked today and it seems the lice have gone but now he has a medium sized scab on his back.
I'm just wondering if the treatment has caused it or he has been biting because of the itchiness.
I will attach photos.
Thankyou.

Did your piggy see a vet for diagnosis and treatment?
No, I looked at what could be wrong and looked at lots of pictures and things first before I done it. I dont have money for vets at the minute

Unfortunately treating an issue without consulting a vet can be risky as you can’t be entirely sure of what you are dealing with. Such treatments you can buy from pet shops are not strong enough to deal with the problem, can mask symptoms and make it harder to deal with.

Do I take him to the vets then. I'm just really worried about him. Hes still eating and everything

Yes, having a vet check done is always the best thing to do, as they can correctly diagnose and prescribe the correct strength treatments
