IMG_0026.webp Hi guys my cinnamon has had this "scab" for a while now. Just wondering what it is? My vet says it was from being in the cage idk how..... also she had/has mange mites and is on revolution... is it from scratching too much? It's turning black now, kind of like it's gonna fall off. I attached a pic

That doesn't sound like a very cavy savy vets to be honest. It could be a scratch where she's caught herself or a nip from a cage mate or even fungal. I can't 100% tell from the picture. Though if it was red and is now looking like it's gonna fall off I wouldn't say fungal.

If the affected area has not spread any further around the scab, it rather looks like an injury and not fungal. If it was fungal, you'd have seen hair loss and white crusts spreading around the initial scratch wound quite quickly over the next few days. The scab sits in one of the classic places for fungal to start, so it was something that needed to be taken into consideration.
It is rather impossible to for anybody say how he managed to hurt his nose, but these things can happen.

The itchiness can come from mange mites; please continue with the full course to make sure that you catch any hatching mites and prevent a comeback - that takes more than just one application. Hopefully the itchiness will subside 2-3 days after the first application. It is bound to come back somewhat before the second round it due but should disappear completely after that. The third round is there to mop up any stragglers.
Mange mites are invisible to the naked eye and burrow their eggs in the skin, which is very uncomfortable and painful.

It is impossible (and in fact illegal) for us to make any binding diagnosis just from your description; what we can do is show up potential avenues and support you in the care. But we cannot replace a hands-on vet visit.
