Scab Looking Thing On Skin Behind Ear.

My guinea pig has this scab looking thing behind his ear on the skin. He's had it for a few weeks now but isnt showing any signs of pain or discomfort. He's eating and drinking normally and seems happy and still popcorns when he gets out of his cage. Some people have told me it looks like a tick but I'm not convinced as he isnt in pain, and plus ticks are live so wouldn't they be moving round and theres only one of them? I'm just unsure of what it is. I can't attatch a photo as I'm unsure how to!

Welcome to the forum. Please could you update your location on your profile as it will help us tailor the advice we give to the correct country etc. It could be a skin condition like fungal but a photo would really help. If you save the file on whatever you are using to post (laptop etc) and then click the upload a file button on your post. Am sure others will be along with a better explanation than mine.

Hmmmm really hard to tell. The bald patch behind the ear is normal Could be the start of something maybe.... Whereabouts in UK are you? we may be able to recommend a guinea pig experienced vet. We have a great locator here Guinea Pig Vet Locator

Am wondering if it is a scab, has he been scratching at all? It is normal for them to have bald patches there but my Mabel had a yeast infection in the same place a couple of years ago. It looked different to your picture though, and had a white bloom. Definitely see what a vet thinks.

I am no expert like Helen, but it just looks like the new skin from under a scab to me. The colour is the same as the rest of the bald patch.

It doesn't look like fungal to me, just a scab that is healing off. Please see a vet if in any doubt.

My ellie had a sebaceous cyst that looked similar. Is it a bit crater like? Like a big spot /whitehead or is it more like a scabby bit like a lid?
I'll try &upload a photo later. Supposed to be working at the moment will see if I can find it whilst I'm waiting for someone.
