hi
Can sawdust be used for guinea pigs as an alternative to woodshavings, as in the prepacked stuff from pet shops?
Thanks

No. Shavings are not very good either as they contain 'dust' too, but Sawdust is so fine, it can be inhaled and cause all sorts of respiratory problems. x

no,sawdust is not ok for any animal, definately very bad for piggies especially

Nope, sawdust is a "no go" ... too fine and dusty and can be inhaled too easily!

Have you tried Megazorb? There's another thread about it. I've switched over to it completely now. It's about £6 for a big bag but that will last you ages

Thanks everyone, you all answered my fears on sawdust. I tried vetbed but got it from ebay and think it was a bit rubbish. Thnx Sophie, think I will try Megazorb
