Is there anything out there better for my piggies than sawdust? They kick it everywhere I'm even finding it in places that my piggies don't even go in.
 
I personally never use sawdust as it can cause allergies. I use vetbed. I buy mine from dogsproductdirect. I have a layer of towels underneath and wash it all every three days.
 
I use Raviera Rape Straw Bedding (£7 to £8 for 20 Kg bale) which is made from shredded oil seed rape. This doesn't affect guinea pigs breathing associated with wood shavings but whatever you use, try spreading hay on top which will lessen the chance of it been kicked out of their cage.
 
I use finacard which I don't find messy, you get it online :) it's the hay that i find everywhere! Ive just got used to it now though :lol:
 
I use incontinence pAds and fleece then newspaper finacard then hay in litter trays.I have the plastic coated grids so not a lot of hay really escapes.To Kate Elizabeth pleased someone else loves finacard.In one post said it was cruel as sharp.My piggies sleep in it
 
I don't know how my hay manages to get everywhere, but it does! Never mind, as long as the piggies are happy :nod: oh it's not sharp at all, it feels spongy when it's all spread out, mine sleep on it too even though they have fleecy things!

Do you get yours online? I pay 13.99 for 17 kilos but have spotted ecobale for 14 quid and is 20 kilos.Have just ordered new lot of finacard or I would give it a go.Have you tried this?Looks similar but squares instead of strips.
 
yeah i get it online, same as u i spotted that after i already ordered finacard, might try it next time it does look similar doesn't it

I used to use woodshavings but it isn't good for their breathing as its so dusty so as I had nothing else in the house at the time I used an old duvet cover with newspaper under it!
Today I got a few of those fleecy dog blankets from poundland so hopefully mine will like them :)
