Yeah, that's right!
When they wee it turns into sawdust!
Alfie's on sawdust and my other 5 are on newspaper!

No. These would not be suitable at all. Have you thought of using fleece? It is nice and cosy and piggies love it.

I used these pellets before and they worked well. I would always put a good layer of hay over the top so that they weren't hard on their feet. I found that they didn't smell half as much as newspaper does and were less messy.

I used similar to this years ago when i first got my piggies and didnt know much and my piggies did get sore feet so i would say not a great idea however they did smell nice and never got stuck in there long hair but so not worth the sore feet.

Dont put the pellets in whole.

My horse is on these also so I just use some from that (aquamax)

Basically what you do is spray them with a bit of water so they powder down and then use it under hay/fleece/newspaper and it soaks up the pee.

I bascially do that on a smaller scale lol.

Thanks for the info everyone!
I decided to get a big bale of sawdust instead! :)

Sawdust is not good for guinea pigs, it can cause eye problems and breathing issues. Not sure if the pellets are the same though.

I use this stuff...
My lot are on vet bed...
And I have a tray under the hay rack to catch all the loose strands and the pigs have a terrible habit of peeing in there so I put the cat litter stuff in there and to be fair... That's where they sleep 9 times out of 10...
Lol...
Don't know wether it would be okay for them to be completely bedded on it... But in a tray... Yeh... My lot love it... Lol
I recently cought c-section pig having a munch of them...
Lol

This is what I did with mine. I wouldn't have had them in the whole cage, but in a tray they worked perfectly.
