Just wondering..what are you people saving your money for at the moment? Any tips for saving it? I want to buy more cubes to extend the piggy cage, and a few other things too.
Actually i'm putting away my spare gold coins at the moment for when my eldest boy returns from the UK so i can give him a 21st birthday and some cash to help him
You could always set it up as a standing order into a savings account that automatically goes out every month - that way it's already gone and you won't think about or miss it so much? :
I save mine and my OH's 50 pences for dollshouse stuff. I normally have about £30 saved up by the time a dollshouse fair comes around, it's amazing how it adds up O0
I've decided I'm gunna try save up £50..I don't know why really, I don't actually *need* that much for what I want, but I find it soo much easier to save up if I have like a target type thing..I was thinking earlier, if I only spend £1 a day from my dinner money I can save up £10 of it by the end of the week : (£3 a day - £15 a week...)
I am desperately trying to raise money to pay off the rest of my brace bill - I am having nightmares about them not taking it off if the bill hasnt been settled! I only have £1300 to go :'( my part time job doesn't bring in much & also I refuse to go on benefits, I am almost phobic about it - I sometimes wish that I could just get a little bit coming in though.
I do have a bit in savings but I refuse to touch those because they make me feel 'safe'! As of September I will be looking for a proper jon because my daughter will be starting school properly which I have mixed feelings over. If I do manage to get a decent enough job I will be saving like crazy to put a deposit down to buy a house that I know will be up for sale in December and sell my house.
Other than that the odd takeaway is nice now & then!
I have 3 saving tins-
O0 one for me, Christmas nights out or clothes save odd £2& £1 coins
O0 one for Christmas, because i lost alot of money with Farepak £20 a week
O0 one for pet bills (since reading about vet costs on this forum) so far £5 or £10 a week
no need for holiday fund I'm sun sensitive,I get a bad reaction up here in Newcastle,so it would be worse if abroad! :embarassed:
