Just seen this on a website and it'd be good to hear what you guys think of it as i certainly haven't seen a cage like this before, i know it's on the small side but i love the bowl and hay rack
I won't be getting this one as i prefer the liberta and i won't be getting one until near winter.
It just intrigued me.

It is quite a cool design, but like piggyfan said, it is too small for guinea pigs. It's also probably very very expensive as it the case with cages like this! I once heard them described as 'glorified litter boxes' :x

that's why i won't get it, i'm on the hunt for for 100x80 due to the space i have which is much harder than you'd think and i can't have c&c due to dog with high predator instinct :)

that's what i though but it's on zooplus for £50. Still not practical for me though :)

Have you thought of building a Lid for the C&C? That might maximise your space best, alternativly you could have a custom built indoor wooden hutch/cage thing. If you know anyone capeable of building one. :)

for a pair of pigs you want a 120 x 60 cage - ive got 4 x 5ft x 2.5ft cages in my 3bed semi - it's all about making the space - i don't believe it when people say they dont have the room - a 120 x 60 cage is actually quite small - there's a corner or table/sideboard a cage of that size would fit easily!

Doesn't a 100x80cm cage give a slightly larger floor area than a 120x60cm?

Yes, it would actually give slightly larger space, trouble is there isnt one thats 100x80 on the market, so I'm trying to find an alterative atm. :/

It probably does - ive never seen a commercial cage for sale with those dimensions though - normally a 100cm cage will be around the 45-50cm width range size! (interestingly if you actually read the inner dimensions for a 100cm cage, they normally state the size as being less than 100cm (the ferplast 100 is actually 95 x 46cm in size - so even smaller)!

Thanks Connie, I've got a wooden bridge which can join the two.
I'm amazed how quickly you've worked some of this out lol

When you share a 5x2metre room and only have a third of it (i'm the youngest lol) it's easy not to have room, i'm either going to try and get the two together like Connie said or get a two tier and put my desk in the loft

I think two together is the better plan. It gives you more area and two ferplast 80s (I suggest you get the ferplast as its by far the easiest to join together) would give you more than the recomended space for two piggies :)

Also, if you cable tie the adjoining sides they will be safe from the dog :)

x>> THANK YOU!

I don't think they'll ever be in it long but as they're boars they obviously need the space whether they're brothers or not. They're coop is about 16sq foot including run and i think it's about 8 or just under in the interior. Summer they've definitely got enough room and i'm determined to make it the same for winter. :)

Size wise (and my maths isn't too good) 2 ferplast 80's joined together would give the minimum living space of 7.5sq ft

A ferplast 120 (using its exact measurements)gives you 0.6903 square metres of space. Using the exact measurements of two ferplast 80 cages, is 0.7392 square metres. So its actually bigger. :)

I'm either going to do the ferplast idea or this:
Cage

This one i've worked out at about 10sq foot but i'll have to have a word with my parents about putting it in the kitchen, it'll be on the floor but the kitchen has a baby gate to stop the dog. Or i'll have to ask dad to build a lot of shelves in my room for extra storage.

Exactly what i said - 7.5sq ft is the minimum recommended living space for 2 pigs! two ferplast 80's joined together gives you 7.5 sq ft of space (or there abouts)!

The preferred living space for 2 pigs is 10.5sq ft - this is a good site for checking minimum cage sizes:

2 smaller cages isnt he same as one large cage though as the trays for the cages take up space and they cant run in a long straight line, as guinea pigs prefer length to width a long thin cage is better IMHO than two together in a square. I know you are short for space but if you can do C&C or use a wooden hutch indoors you might get a better cage for cheaper than two ferplasts!

I have got a few months to decide but i'm the kind who won't settle until i'm 90% sure on something, i've ebayed the cubes for C&C and the cheapest is about £80 for 26 :O
and again my desk will have to go to be traded with a table which i'm fine with, they'll only be in it about 4 months a year. I'd love to be able to just pick the piggies out the cage/have them right next to my bed :D it'd be great lol
Where do you guys get your cubes from?
Just thinking it'd be easier to dissemble it and put it in a small box for 8 months instead of having a bloomin great cage taking up space (i already have about 6 hamster ones which need to go lol)

You dont have to get the mesh grids, you can get grids that are all plastic and just need a hole cutting so you can use a wate bottle and you can get 13 grids for less than 20 quid or wayfair.co.uk sell 20 grids of the mesh type for £30 x

Take a look at these links :)

C&C will probably be your best bet - like you say, you can dismantle and put in a box when you are not using them ;)

If you use a shower curtain for the base too it will be super easy to fold up and fit in the loft/under a bed/on a shelf etc x

Thank you all so much for the help.
I've got enough room for 8.4sq foot if i use all the space without making my sister walk sideways to her bed which should be fine for them :)
I've seen on that web page, cavycages i think it was how to put a base and a bit of a side on it as i prefer megazorb over fleece (think my mum will have heart failure with the washing lmao)

Regarding water bottles and mesh grids - the glass water bottles can be fixed inside the cage and are held in place using a wire clip and metal spring.

I use the glass bottles for my lot and attach them to the insides of their cages - mainly because people kept knocking the plastic ones off as they walked past the cages :) If space is an issue for you as well, you'd probably be better off investing in the glass ones - no chance of anyone knocking them off!

The great thing about C&C is that you can make them any shape you want and to fit in to any space you have available - so in your situation, this is what i'd opt for personally :)

You could pick up some vinyl flooring for the base - works the same as correx (so you can have sides on the base to stop any bedding getting over the floor) and when you want to dismantle the cage you just roll up the vinyl flooring ready to use again :)

If you have a carpet shop nearby i would look for some cheap off-cuts - or ask the shop owner if they have any that would otherwise be thrown away - after all it's for a good cause ;)

I am liking the sound of C&C much more, as i only have 94cm x 88cm i'll probably have to build a hay loft or something, they will be able to see out the window with a loft too
