Does anyone have any experiences using 'dragon's blood' (I hope that's what it's called in English)?
It's the resin of the dragon's tree. A vet prescribed it for a piggy with sore paws (belonging to an acquaintance of mine), but I have never heard of it before.
Thanks! :)

Any idea what the scientific name of the plant is? I've not heard of a 'dragon tree' but when I looked it up, the ones I found, "draecena" species, were described as poisonous to cat and dogs. I'm guessing it is an ointment as it is for sore paws, but I don't know if that would make it not toxic.

I had another look for sangre de drago, and found that in S America it is a traditional folk remedy for treating wounds, soreness etc. It comes from trees that are different species to the toxic one, called "Croton".

Sorry, never come across this on this forum. Since it is topical (on the spot) treatment and not ingested or injected, it should not be a big risk.
