Samantha and Serena have had a fight skinny pigs

Background to this.Matthew has been unwell,but samantha and serena usually get on well.i placed Samantha and Serena in a carrier so i can clean there cage out.matthew is downstairs being syringe fed.
i heard a commotion and found Serena has two puncture wounds on her back.so have now seperated.i have never seen a sow actually bite another sow in all my many guinea pigs.
so now I'm trying to bond Harry,Poppy and Serena i hope it goes well.though Harry is unwell and not eating for himself and been syringe fed due to ?UTI. I will keep close monitoring of the bonding.I'm rather sad the skinny pig bond has broken.
 
I am so sorry Eileen, it's horrible when bonds break. I've had a couple of upsets over the years, they have just happened out of the blue. I hope your new bonding goes well.

I am so sorry. It is very likely a defense bite after something must have spooked them; but the bond is likely broken now. :(

You have to see how harry is reacting to the girls. Could you try him in a corner of the cage first so you can judge better how he is reacting?

i can,unfortunatley Harry is not reacting to the bonding at all.Poppy is teeth chattering but Serena is submission squeaking,so i think all will be okay.Serena has two sets of two front teeth puncture wounds so two bites must have occured.ive washed with saline water,but will need to observe as she is a Skinny pig .
 
Sorry to hear that the girls have fallen out. What a nightmare. Hope that the new bonding works out. Sending healing vibes for Harry. ❤️
 
Now Harry is boss,but looks like Poppy is not keen on Samantha,just teeth chattering for 2 hours and chasing.so I've abandoned that bonding!I've decided to try Finley,Olivia,dakota with Samantha and that seems to be a very amicable bonding.lets hope that's it.as I have only one more inside herd I can try her with !🤣
 
Fingers crossed for the new bond. Poppy is definitely little miss independent and not scared of making her feelings known
 
Just caught up. I am so relieved you have found a solution. These piggies really do keep us on our toes!

She is confident,Harry is still boss,he rumbles at her frequently, even though he's poorly he will not let her take his hidey! Poppy likes being boss of sows,so it would need a submissive piggy to join them.i do love Poppy.
