Sallys bad hay poke 😑

Little miss Sally had me at the emergency vets last night. 😢 she had hay stuck in her eye and it looked pretty bad. (True piggy style of the worst possible timing! Oh was at work with the car seats and the car and I had to post on my local community group begging to borrow car seats so my friend could drive us to the emergency vets!) She has isathal 6 times a day and I've contacted her usual vet today and she's put some remend up for her also. She'll have a recheck Wednesday morning to see how she's doing. She's already on metacam for her arthritis and had her second laser therapy today as planned. She's certainly causing me to loose sleep lately!

Thankyou, she gave me a right scare 😱 I'm still very worried about the eye it looks pretty nasty! it's terrifying how quickly hay poke takes effect! I'm so thankful to the neighbours who lent us car seats for the kiddos and my friend for dropping everything and getting us to the emergency vet. It really takes a village to raise a piggy sometimes 🥰

That’s a great app you have, your village sounds a lovely place. It does look sore be it’s amazing just how well they heal once the meds get working. Poor you, glad you have such good neighbours though, things like this always happen when you are car-less and at the worst possible time too

Poor Sally, hope she is on the mend!🤞 I've always found Isathal works wonders; even with the scariest of eye pokes. I also have Koda on it sometimes as he is prone to flare ups of conjunctivitis. That is a very inflamed eye she has :( Hope you start to see an improvement soon. Sending love
 
Oh my word, what a shocker. Poor Sally. Hope that the treatment works quickly for her.

Tomorrow she is seeing our lovely vet to check up on it and Thursday she is back at the referral centre for laser therapy 🥰 8 months ago she was one of the most skittish piggies I'd ever adopted and would not tolerate a human hand anywhere near her! ❤️ she has made so much progress to the piggy who now loves to snuggle and is letting me put drops in her eye every few hours and plodding through so many vet appointments 🥰

Good news is that the vet is happy with her progress with her eye, the edges aren't glowing green anymore just the centre which is great :) she's back for a recheck on Saturday and back at laser therapy tomorrow as planned 🥰 also I found a little lump in her tummy but the vet isn't concerned and has advised just monitoring it for now 😀
