safe to use boxes?

probably me being stupid but are any / all cardboard boxes safe to use for my girls? lidl always have empty boxes but a lot of them are different colours and i’m worried about it making my girls ill!

My piggies love cardboard boxes and tend to prefer them over their expensive fleece hides
I would avoid any boxes with dyes or plastic coatings - stick to plain cardboard. I have heard that Amazon sprayed their boxes with some sort of disinfectant due to COVID (I'm not 100% sure), so maybe also give those a miss.

yes this is why i’ve been buying actual small pet hides rather than using boxes because i’m so nervous they might cause problems!

I try to get just brown or white ones. I work in a school kitchen so we get loads of different sizes. You could ask your local newsagents if you could have the boxes crisps come in.
