After getting our Guinea pigs (like a week ago) my mom won't let me use the washing machine to wash their fleece, without ANY compromises at all (she has OCD and feels like the Guinea pigs are dirty) She told me that I should just soak the fleece in hot water with soap and then rinse it and let it dry. She just squrited some shampoo. Would vinegar and hot water make it just as clean? Or are there other soaps that are safe to use to wash the fleece, she doesn't like using dawn dish soap.

You could hand wash it in the bath with washing powder. Or after you wash it in a washing machine in a horse wash bag run the washing machine through at 90c wash.

I wash mine in a horse wash bag in the machine. All the bits of hair and hay stay in the wash bag and the machine stays clean.
For hand washing I would use hot water, a non bio powder/liquid for hand washing and put some white vinegar in the rinse water.

You'll be so pleased you did. They are really good. I held off buying one and used cheaper versions but they were useless and a waste of money.
My machine has developed a beeping noise. I think it might be getting clogged with hair and hay. Il order one soon

You may need to clean the filter. Good luck!
Its a combi dryer machine. I have had it to bits, could only find one filter at the front. It only beeps on tumble, but apparently it doesnt have a lint filter. I never tumble whilst I'm not at home now incase of a fire

VickiA can I ask what the white vinegar is for? I am using a perfume free non bio liquid - surecsre. I’ve ordered a bag too (thanks) as I was concerned about my washing machine share too!

White (distilled) vinegar is an odour neutraliser and also helps disperse any soap left in the fleece.
