Safe Paint for Hideouts

I have a couple of hideouts that I’d love to paint. Since my boys sometimes chew on the windows of the hideout, I want to make sure the paint is safe and non-toxic. Does anyone know of any paint that‘s safe like that? Thanks!

How about using vegetable dyes? I think you can even make them yourself, though I haven't tried it. Though they may make the hideout all that much more appealing to chew ...

I'm sorry just realised you are in the USA.not sure if you can get cupinol paint.look for garden paint that is water based.

As @eileen as mentioned, Cuprinol Garden Shades is considered as pet safe. I think @Flutterby has also used this paint.

Or, you could try to find pet-safe paint that is non toxic.
