I use a spray cleaner specific to guineas on a daily basis ,and in summer, fill the cage with soapy water and give it a scrub. However the cage is quite stained (it's4 years old) and i wondered if there are any "safe" household cleaners e g The PinkStuff ( i am UK based) that i could use

I put white vinegar and plain water into an empty starter and use that. The vinegar is acid so if you want to remove calcium build up in pee corners pour some in neat and leave for a couple of hours, then rinse off, works a treat!

I’m another piggy owner vouching for using vinegar. It’s cheaper and probably better than most cleaners I’ve used. It can also be used in the softener compartment to help with the pee whiffs when washing fleeces :)

I also use white vinegar sometimes. I have plastic trays and generally just shower them clean with hot water and a scrub!

Then pick all the leftover hay bits out of the plughole obvs 😉
