So I took the decision 2 days ago to seperate my boys😫
I know this is never ideal but I decided it was in gizmos best interest, peanut has been bullying him relentlessly for over a week now and it wasn't fair on him.it has been happening more and more frequently.
I actually thought peanut was ill last week because his behaviour had changed dramatically, turns out he was fine, just decided he didn't want gizmo in his space anymore.
Not sure why, gizmo is such a sweet pig,but I was constantly having to intervene when I heard gizmos terrified screams and then saw peanut with a mouthful of his fur😱
No blood had been drawn but still.
Since I have seperated them they both seem happier, more relaxed and definitely eating more.
I think I may keep peanut on his own and get gizmo a new baby friend as he is not dominant at all so I think he would benefit from a friend who can look up to him🙂

It’s always sad when a separation has to happen but if they weren’t happy then it has to be done. Hopefully they can both enjoy life more now without feeling stressed and tense

You have done the best thing for both of them by the sounds of it. Some pigs just can’t live together. Hopefully they will both now relax and flourish.

Thank you,it is such a shame as I had plans for them both to live in my shed in spring..when I actually got round to building it after what happened last year lol🙄
But now I have to adjust my plans slightly which is not a problem, they can have their own space in the shed.
I can't help wondering if it was space that is the issue?
Could I try putting them back together in the shed as no blood was drawn they were just in each others faces all the time.
Maybe I might try and see how they get on with sheds more space..pardon the pun lol🤣🤣🤣
If it's not meant to be then I can adjust their living space accordingly.

If piggies aren’t compatible, then no amount of space will fix that.
How big was their cage?
If no blood was drawn, then you could try a reintroduction but be prepared for it to not work. You’ll obviously have to give it a go before you get a new friend for gizmo
