Hey! So I got my second guinea pig a couple of months ago, and her eyes are very wide.... idk how else to describe them. You can see the white in her eyes and where she's looking. It's adorable. I noticed that her eyes always seem to be a little moist. Like, the area around them too. I didn't worry about it because they're always like that, and it doesn't seem to be a problem. Then one day she had a little bit of milky looking puss coming from the inner part of her eye (so naturally, I started freaking out) but then did some research and realized that she had probably just gotten something in her eye while grooming and her eye was just getting it out (she wasn't having any other symptoms). So I kept an eye on her and it didn't happen again for a few weeks. It happened again yesterday tho, and I just wiped it away carefully. It hasn't happened again, but her eyes always seem to be moist and it concerns me because my other piggy never has had any problems with her eyes. She's not having any other symptoms or anything, and she's been this way the whole time I've had her, and she's healthy in every other way, but I just wanted to get your guys' opinion on what might be the problem. Or if this even IS a problem. The vets close to me are SUUPER expensive, and barely know as much about guinea pigs as I do... so I'm not really wanting to go to them if they're just gonna give me eye drops and charge me just for walking in the door.
Anyway, any help is appreciated! Thanks!

I'll try to post a pic of her "normal" eyes and then a pic of her eyes looking kinda moist.

Also, she's not squinting there because of her eye. It's hard to get pics of her, so I got her when she was just waking up.. haha

Watery fluid needs to be investigated as it is generally a sign of irritation in the eye, especially if it is connected with lots of blinking or a drawn in eye.

Milky fluid is normal eye cleaning fluid and nothing to worry about. Sometimes a little bit is spilling over or is not absorbed again by the tear duct.
