:)p I bought one of those balls for her to run around in and she just sits there in it. Its plenty BIG. I guess she thinks its a cage. I've tried rolling her to show her but no luck. Has anyone else gone through this?

Guinea pigs are NOT built for running in balls. They have long bodies & short legs & spines that do not bend the same way hamsters & rats do. Please take your guinea pig OUT of the ball & let her free-range in a piggy-proofed room.

I know petshops/petsites say these balls ARE fine for guinea pigs but they most definitely are NOT.

Zooplus have some fab pens and runs which can be used indoors and out:

Indoors pens provide great places for your piggie to explore, run around and have fun in!
They're easy to put up, clean after and you can change the set up every play time :)

An idea of what a pen can look like:

my boys enjoying themselves safely and having lots of fun! :)

Have 1

I bought a pen and she pushes it around and jumped out of it. I need a higher and heavier one. My husband may contrsuct 1 for me.

If your pig is inside your home, can you block off an area of a room for her to run around in? If she's an outdoor pig then yes she would need a secure, predator proof run/pen. :)

Thats a fab idea, my boys used to get floor time indoors when they didnt have the shed, i used to put down plastic table mats and then an old bath towel to protect the carpets. But you could also use your kitchen if you have lino, or i know some people use childrens paddling pools as playpens as the are waterproof just need a wipe down before putting away! :)

dining room

I have her in my computer room(dining room) with the doors shut. She's an escape artist. Did the kiddie pool and she jumped out.

Haha ooohh she sounds like my Harvey I have no idea but he can jump onto box's four times the size on him...hmmm i think its going have to be a pen with a lid! :)) Good luck in searching for the perfect pen for her, and i hope she doesnt escape this time :)

Have you tried one of the Trixie style runs you can use indoor or outdoor there metal and can be put up or down really easy. You could try this one:

www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/small_pets/hutches_cages/runs_fencing/pens_with_racks/95235

I have this one and it is tall and no way can your piggie climb over it and it has a net which covers the top also you can buy seperate to this a nylon base which goes on the bottom which is completely waterproof I have two of these and lots of piggie pee doesn't seep through to the carpet.

Sorry if the link didn't work you might have to copy and paste.

She'll get something and she does get exercise running around in a room. I wish she'd pickup the concept of that ball. She could go all over my apt. I have 1 more store to look. Seeing a vet is no problem. My husband already said whatever she needs we'll get for her.

She won't 'pick up the concept of it' her body isn't meant to! Did you not read Niki's post? She is NOT a hamster.

Get her a run and get her a friend, million times better for her than a ball.

I'd get a bigger one tbh. Why don't you do C&C? You can get them in the US, at least this website seems to think so

http://www.guineapigcages.com/cubes.htm

If you are worried about her jumping out, make a lid with the cubes too. Mine have never tried to jump out of my runs so I have never had to worry about a lid.

Don't 'geez' me please, you posted on here about sticking your guinea pig in a hamster ball, making poor excuse for a lack of run, and getting her a friend 'eventually' when she should have had one from day one if you'd done your research.

Ok so the c&c wouldn't work for me.I need something easily folded. I'm out of town til tomorrow. I looked at the pet store here and they had no pens. I'll be looking this weekend at this 1 once i'm home. The bigger one of course. Plenty big and high enough she can't jump out. She's a lil escape artist. She may have a new friend sooner than i thought. I keep on my hubby. He gets a new rc heli i get another piggy...He he..lol
