Letting them out to run around the hall for a bit, it's the first time they've been out of the cage for anything other than handling, I wanted to give them a few days first. Blitzen isn't happy about this, and is sitting in a corner unimpressed with me. Comet's loving it, running around, nibbling on everything, squeaking to himself.

Oh they are gorgeous! It certainly looks like they are enjoying themselves :)

That's so funny that one of the loves it and the otehr is sulking.
Looks like a great space you have for them to run around in.

Thank you! Blitzen eventually came round, kind of, and I even got a sniff. Comet was even bolder, leaping over my legs and arms. It's just my hallway, boxed off at the other end so they can't get themselves into too much trouble. There's wires at the other end I can't move/unplug and Comet's too likely to try and eat them. You can see him nibbling at the towel there, and he went for the carpet, the wallpaper, the front door, the letterbox...and Blitzen even found himself a stone. I need to work on tooth-proofing the hall a bit, but they loved it and that's what matters.

Now, if only I could get Comet to hold still for the camera a bit more often...

I think they'd prefer to eat it instead, although considering the junk I seem to get in the post, maybe that'd be no bad thing...

You could even have one of those signs .. beware of the gunieapigs !

My pigs are like that too, lol...one hates floor time and the other can't wait to have a good run around! :))

Aww bless them. Some piggies feel more secure with boundaries at run time than others. Free ranging freaks our girls out they prefer a big boundary area as our room is quite large.

Sounds like he has got used to it though. Your piggies are  Hope ti see lots more photos of them!

Adorable! Love how one was just annoyed and the other was happy.
I'd love to let them toddle round everywhere, but I'm afraid of accidents...love the pigtures!
Do you have anywhere in your home that could be sectioned off? I basically used a heavy box (Ikea furniture I've been meaning to build for a month...or maybe 6) to block off the "dangerous" part of the hall, then lay down in front of it with the pigs. That way even if they got too curious I could still get ahold of them and put them back towards the door before they decided to squeeze past the box. The other thing is making sure there's nothing they can chew on that they aren't supposed to have, as Blitzen reminded me by trying to eat a stone. Thankfully he spat it out himself.

I'll look into getting something for Blitzen to hide in but I don't think his problem is fear so much as..."why am I doing this, why are you bothering me". They were out for around an hour and a half today and by the end of it he was chasing Comet around. I suspect he's got more of a case of the grumps than anything else, he certainly seems to be more of a grumpy piggy (he's taking after me, aw bless!).

Godfrey once ate a dead leaf, I had to pull it out of his mouth.
I think we have rooms that'd be safe, but if they peed...our house is mostly carpeted. On the plus side, their cage IS enormous...
