So last year we bought the girls a run so they could go in the garden, I was very good and put it in the shed overnight to keep it dry etc. Then it stayed there over winter.

A couple of weeks ago I got it out for the first time to put them on the grass for a short while and the hinges for roof had rotted and so the roof was no longer attached to the sides.

This wasn't a major problem, however it got left out in the rain and when I went to move it I noticed some small bugs hanging around the edges. I'm loath to put it in the shed with them still on it as I keep my hay and bedding in there and don't want them getting into that. The wood is still damp and i'm not sure what to do as the weather shows no sign of letting up and drying it out.

Anyone have any advice? Should I put it away in the shed now, or leave it out in the rain folded up and wait for the sun again? Our shed is quite full so it would be impossible to put it sufficiently far enough away from the bales of bedding for my comfort.

Help!

Could you dry off the run in the house or your porch for a few hours? Just put it on some old newspaper. Or get some plastic to prevent it from getting wet again?

I have a tarp type thing that I used for camping that now goes over the run to keep it dry in bad weather. I think it will always have bugs on it, they annoy me too but there isn't much you can do. Maybe leave it out for now but cover it up then let it out to dry when the weather is better.

I've also just got a tarp to keep my run dry. I got it from eBay . It's quite thin (think heavier sheets are available) but it was cheap and has eyelets which I put tent pegs through to hold it in place. I guess you need to get it dry first though unless you can peg it out wide enough to let the air get to it.
