Hi please could you suggest run idea for outside for this type of 'hutch' (please note this will not be used for permanant housing they are indoor pigs in a large c&c with fleece. This is just as an extra run space when the weather is nice. Our older piggy prefers to go inside than sit out with the girls)
We need something that has cover 1. Because of the sun we get sun most of the day till about 7.30pm so need to shade and 2. To stop cats etc getting in. As you can see i have one of those hexagonal runs with cover but its too wide for the far part of the cover to fit well so had to hook it on but cat could easily get in. I dont want to build the run around it as it would take up far too much run space unless i buy another! Any suggestions welcome.

You could try something like this
Metal Run Rabbit Guinea Pig Chicken Duck Ferret Dog Cat Pet Enclosure Roof Hutch | eBay
I've got one similar. There is a door, which I line up to a small hutch, then open the door into it, like a ramp. You would need something for them to climb in and out from your hutch, like a bendy log. The one I have has a sloped roof, which would be better, as cat's couldn't easily sit on top of it. It's similar to the one you have, only a bit more sturdy. The only issue I have with it is that you can't open the roof, so I need to wait for them to go into the hutch part to get them back out again! This is the one I have.

This is the one I have.

Yes i had thought this problem is the rood overhangs so i cant put anything flush up to the doors so there is gaps either side. I wanted to do that with ones ive got with the door bit and log but couldnt due to gap x

Ahh - I never thought of that.
