I have a sow who has been rumbling a lot normally I have only seen boar do this, this sow I literally just witnessed her mounting one of her cagemate like a boar would. I have checked her bits twice and I thought she is definitely a sow as the Y was obvious I couldn't feel a penis. Today she has been rumbling worse as mentioned with the mounting I checked her again still a Y and the fleshy seal looks bigger but again I couldn't feel a penis but I started to wonder can piggies have bits of both sex in them or is she looking more fleshy down there above the Y shape just due to a strong season?

Rumbling and mounting is all perfectly normal sow behaviour.
How old is your girl?

She is probably just having a strong season and everything should settle down in a day or two.

Hi!

How old is the sow in question? Rumble-strutting and mountain are practised by both genders but without more background information, we cannot put your particular issue into more of a context.

Sows can do it doing introductions, when experiencing a strong season or later on as adults because of a hormonal ovarian cyst.
You can find more information on sow behaviours and issues particular to them in this link here, which you may find very helpful and interesting. Sows: Behaviour and female health problems (including ovarian cysts)

She is 6 months, has been here with me for 4 now

Classic age for big seasons as sows experience their own hormone high parallel to teenage boars. It is not well known because sows don't usually fall out but with some it can impact on their relationship. It should settle down again over time.

You will find more information, including a link to a guide with videos of a strong teenage season and all the attendant drama in the coloured guide link in my last post.
