Rumbling at Us!

Yesterday we had Bramble out on my husbands lap while we were doing his health check and although it had been the usual hassle to actually get him out of the cage, once he was out, he really enjoyed being stroked and while my husband was feeling his body for any lumps & bumps, he actually started rumbling (Just like he does to Herbert his next door neighbour all the time!) at my husband and kicking out his feet as if he was ticklish, then started kind of rolling around on his side and eventually laid on his side all comfortable, while having a scritch, which was just the cutest thing we've ever seen and really made our day! Bramble has never been like this before and he is the one who always used to scream whenever we tried to pick him up too!

It was just so lovely!

He also did another short rumble at us today while we were trying to get him out of 'his side' of the run, and also did his usual teeth chattering as well because he was annoyed that we were trying to catch him to take him in for the night! It's funny, but we don't like to stress him too much either, and it's always such a ri ggmarol (Not sure of the spelling! ) every time it comes to getting them in from the run!

It is lovely to see Bramble coming out of himself and showing off his boarly personality. Rumbling can range from measuring up with other boars, showing off to the ladies, expressing dominance to just expressing a boar's happiness that all is fine with his world (usually ending in a popcorn).

PS: It's spelled rigmarole - originally meaning a lengthy story but now it can mean a palaver, fuss and quite a drama as well.
