Hello.

We have just got two sisters who are just 6 weeks old. We have had them for just over 24 hours. They are in cage in our living room. We handled them and thats ok. They are continually rucking and squeeking at each other. There doesnt seem to be any teeth involved. One is trying to take over the pigloo. Is this normal? Will they ever pack it in!

When you have guinea pigs, one is always the dominant one. They will mount and chase each other to determine who this is. You should ensure you have two of everything so they do not have to fight over things. So have two hiding places not just one.

Cocoa and Buttercup are settling down, they still ruck a bit. From the advice we had one here we now have two pigloos. They often share the same one though!

I was really worried when our two girls were 1st put together-they didnt seem to get on and Lottie seemed to 'bully' Bonnie by pecking at her.
I realise now that it was normal behaviour and that they cant be expected to get on all the time. They have now settled down a lot and Lottie wheeks very loudly and searches for Bonnie when you take her out of their cage.
