cuddles

O.k I dont have much experience with abcess's as I have only ever had one with one but tonight I noticed that little Ruby(2 months old ) has got two hard little lumps on the side of her face.she didnt have them yesterday! I noticed her and Callico having a fight over their water bottle pow-powand she got nipped but there werent any bite marks on her then.(they now have got a bottle each). They feel like abcess's but i'm not sure if they are?/
She is eating and drinking fine also. They are about the size of a small raisin

If she is eating and drinking normally then I would keep an eye on them for a couple of days and if they get bigger then I would take her to the vet. If they are abcesses then they can be drained. Sometimes if teeth become overgrown they can cause abcesses so keep an eye on her and make sure she continues to eat without difficulty.

Hi love just wondering how Ruby is?
Have you taken her to the vets yet?
Abscesses can appear from one hour to the next, just like that, it sounds like the nip from her cage mate may have triggered this :0
Good luck and healing wheeeeeeeeeeks for little Ruby xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

poor Ruby

thanks for the links. She is eating fine (she is always first to eat everything) and drinking normally.the little side if her face is swollen where her whiskers are but they are not getting any bigger.her mouth isn't swollen either which I think helps her I will pop her in to the vet on monday if they are worse or not gone.:^-

I'm glad that Ruby is eating and drinking normally. Hope things go well at the vets on Monday if you take her.

I ended up taking her in yesterday pm as one of my cats had a blocked bladder.the vet said they are swellings from being nipped even though there re no wounds or marks! they are draining out her nose and she is on a antibiotic. She was a show off and everybody loved her!@)
