So sometime in the last 24 hours Ruby had her babies. Unfortunately one was born dead but we have one surviving little fella who I am thinking is a little boy but I only had him out for a minute to weigh him. I will post better pictures once it is not dark in my shed. But for now here is the little baby weighing in at 114g.

He's a big boy and absolutely beautiful! I love his colouring x

What an adorable baby!
Sad about the one that didn't survive though! :(
I hope the mum is doing well? :luv:

Yes I was really sad about the one that didn't survive. I wish I could have done more for the other little one, its a shame I wasn't there when she gave birth.
The little one we do have is absolutely beautiful. Mum is doing well and seems happy with her new little one, she is chatting to her new baby.

I saw your other thread about getting Ruby and it looks to me like you did all you could. Thanks to you she had a nice environment to bring her surviving baby into, and perhaps there was a genetic fault with the other one. I bought a large texel baby once called Hazel, she was very big and fuzzy and looked the picture of health. But she had a very serious heart murmur which reduced her lifespan. Her smaller sibling was healthy. So please don't blame yourself. I'm sure Ruby is very grateful for all you have done for her and her baby. And lets face it, she really got lucky landing in your lap after being put up on gumtree - anything could've happened to them!

Sorry, i meant Facebook, not gumtree! All the same to me i'm afraid, i think its quite risky getting rid of unwanted pets online like that, poor things :(

I'm so sorry you lost one baby but so glad that Ruby has made it through and you have a beautiful baby.

I will tag @Wiebke who is our resident expert on nursing mums and mini pigs

What a cute little golden agouti baby!

I have answered your concerns in your pregnancy/nursing period support thread.

Congratulations! I am so sorry about the little one you lost :( The other one is gorgeous!

He's lovely! :luv: Our pregnant sow gave birth to still born piggy first too, it's very sad when that happens.

Yes it is really sad when you have cared for them so well and things don't go to plan. I am sorry to hear about your baby as well, hope your mummy pig is doing well.

The second baby looked exactly like the first one as well and are a spitting image of their Dad Rupert, who is loving life in his new home.
This was their Daddy

He's really gorgeous! My Mummy piggy and the babies have passed over the rainbow bridge but they were lovely and such an experience. I didn't know the father as Rose Petal (we called her Bear) was a rescue piggy...my daughter said one day "Mummy, she's getting fatter!" and then we took her to the vet and found out! We called the baby boys Humbug and Scruffy.

Hope ruby is doing okay  Thanks for the photos, so sorry one pup didn't make it

Sleep well little one x

Yesterday my little one started eating hay for the first time, he really loved the timothy hay with dandelion and marigold. Today he has eaten his first few pieces of veg, he tested some Romaine and some spring greens, chatting away while he is eating. He is also now up to 150g and growing so fast. I can't believe how cute he is and how much I love him. I love his little sounds when he follows his mummy. I will get some more pics during clean out day tomorrow.

The baby is now 9 day old and is already around 200g. If he carries on putting weight on like he has been he will be at 250g before he is 2 weeks (about 13 days old). Is this going to be too early to separate him from his Mum?

He is now eating hay and bits of veg but not a great deal of veg and haven't seen him eat any pellets yet (but he might just have not eaten them while I have been watching). I am trying to sort out getting him a baby friend so that he is not lonely when he gets taken from his mum.
I am very much enjoying the little one and it is so cute watching him run around squeaking.

Some updated pictures from the last few days of Ruby and her little boy. He ate his first lot of grass today during floor time. Although they hated floor time and didn't move apart from to eat grass, however they will run round cage like loonies. Enjoy the sweet little man.

His mummy is only small herself, she is only around 700g and not very old bless her. She also had a very big baby boy who has grown a lot in the last 2 weeks, bless her.

OMG, they are both sooo adorable. They have such beautiful shiny coats and I love the way she is protective of her baby in your pics *melts*
