I have lost count of the number of time I have started this post in the past 2 weeks.
I wanted it to be a fitting tribute to an incredible guinea pig.
But the reality is there really are no words to do justice to our sweet, feisty, confident, demanding, opinionated little agouti pig.
Two weeks ago we lost our precious Ruby.
She had spent he previous day trotting around her cage, wheeking for attention, and eating fresh grass before setting down for a night buried under a pile of her favourite hay.
It was the perfect final day.
And at the very end Ruby was held by her precious slave - the person she adored most in this world.
She left gently, while we reminded her how loved and amazing she truly was - not that she needed us to - Ruby always knew she was special.
I am sure that wherever she is now she is causing absolute mayhem, just as she always did while she was here with us.
There are no words for how much we all miss her.
The depth of our sorrow truly is the height of our joy.
